The Difference is Not Just in Our Name
You may be wondering what UGLii means. UGLii means Unique Geographic Listing for industry and is the dot on our online mapping system that represents a business’ location. Research showed us that businesses liked the term UGLii so we named the system after the dot. UGLii Find system is so different it has spawned a number of new terms.
UGLii’s Business to Business Focus
While UGLii Find is a great system for consumer related searches it has been built for B2B discovery. The difference has to do with specificity of search. Most online directory systems have opted for defining categories which means they can’t be very specific. This is a common sense approach for consumer searching. Australian Directory industry currently generates $2000 million annually. The industry is undergoing change as it transforms from printed directories to online directories. These changes are radical as the once monopolistic industry is broken up into competing online systems. I don’t have to spell out to you the benefits to all businesses of this new climate – greater competition, more diverse services, more affordable services and greater participation by businesses, who in the past were locked out of buying directory services by their sheer cost.
The Global directory industry generates about $US250 billion of revenues per annum.
